CT Acidizing

CT Acidizing

Acidizing is one of the most effective means available to improve productivity of wells. Acidizing is by pumping acid into a wellbore or formation that consequently maximize hydrocarbon recovery. It can be acid washing or matrix acidizing.
Acid wash, is mostly performed with hydrochloric acid (HCl) mixtures to clean out scale (e.g. calcium carbonate) and other debris that is restricting flow in the well.
While matrix acidizing is focusing on formation treatments. Acid treatment is injected below formation fracturing pressure to dissolve materials that restricting flow in formation.
A challenge in acidizing is to ensure the acid goes where it can be fully utilized. Coiled Tubing unit is often and widely used to facilitate the placement of the acid across the target interval of the well. CT also bring added benefit by not exposing production tubing to the acid.
